Yields, harvest percentages discussed at ag breakfast

Local agriculture producers met at RJ Coffey Cup Restaurant in Wapakoneta Tuesday morning to discuss yields and strategies. The monthly Ag breakfast, sponsored by the OSU extension office, was a round table discussion offering farmers the opportunity to talk about this year’s harvest.

The average yield in Auglaize County ranged from 50 to 90 bushels per acre for beans and between 180 and 242 bushels per acre for corn, based on those who reported their yields to OSU Extension Educator Jeff Stachler at the meeting.

“A lot of the corn looks like it will be just over 200 and beans will be in the mid 60s,” Stachler said.
