Waynesfield to host Blue Collar Showcase

After rains washed away racing action at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield last Saturday night, officials are eager to get cars back on the 1/3 mile.

The Blue Collar Showcase is a new race program being piloted in 2016 that features an adjusted race format and increased payout.

Saturday’s program will feature the Performance Powder Coating AMSA Mini Sprints, Quest Federal Credit Union UMP Modifieds, Block Insurance Tough Trucks, and the Indian Lake Outfitter Compacts.  Bonus money has been put up for The Quest Federal Credit Union UMP Modified A-main.

The winner of 20-lap event will walk home with a $1,000 payday. The Modifieds, Mini Sprints, and Tough Trucks will be partaking in group qualifying for initial lineups; Compacts will stick with the normal pill draw format.  In addition, the first of two Powder Puff Tough Truck races will take place on Saturday for the ladies of the racing community.

Giveaways for the young ladies in attendance by driver of the XS Compact Austin Scott has also been rescheduled for Saturday to accompany the Powder Puff showdown.

Adult general admission is just $12, kids 11-15 years of age are admitted for just $6, and everyone under the age of 10 is admitted for free. Pit admission is $25.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m.; grandstands at 5 p.m. Hot laps and group qualifying get underway at 6 p.m. with racing action scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m.
