Staff Writer

A Wapakoneta man was arraigned in Logan County Common Pleas Court on Friday morning for his alleged involvement in a Lakeview shooting in April.

Brett W. Eley, 29, of Wapakoneta, was indicted Tuesday on one count of carrying concealed weapons, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

With his counsel, Eley appeared before Judge Mark O’Connor and pleaded innocent to both charges. He was released on a non-recognizance bond and is set to appear in court for a pretrial hearing July 7.

The indicted charges are in regard to Eley’s alleged connection with a shooting that took place in Lakeview on April 28. He was arrested April 29 after being located and questioned by Logan County deputies at the Dollar General in Lakeview. Three other co-defendants also have pending cases in Logan County Common Pleas in relation to the incident.
