The up and down cycle continues.
The Wapakoneta girls had its Senior Night spoiled by visiting New Knoxville, as the Lady Rangers defeated the Lady Redskins 41-24 in nonleague play on Tuesday.
After winning three straight to close out December, Wapakoneta has alternated wins and losses so far in 2020.
For Wapakoenta, now 7-8 on the year. Minnig was the leading scorer with 10. Wilson was held to five, having to sit for stretches in the second and third due to foul trouble.
"The girls played hard. They tried to stay physical," said Coach Rusty Allen of the Lady Redskins. "Both teams had a hard time finding a rhythm."
He noted that once New Knoxville got a lead, "It's not easy to play catch-up."
Another area where New Knoxville had the edge was at the free throw line. The Lady Rangers were 13 of 17 on the night, while Wapakoneta was 2 of 3.
