The Wapakoneta baseball team brought their bats — and put them to use.
The Redskins racked up 16 hits as they defeated Perry 18-2 in a five-inning victory over host Perry in nonleague action on Thursday.
Wapakoneta had just one hit in a win over Ottawa-Glandorf earlier this week, but made the defense's job easy in this contest.
Brandon Schneider picked up the victory. He allowed just two hits, while walking two and striking out six.
Jett Makar had a 2-run home run for Wapakoneta, while J.R. Young had two doubles and two singles. Ryan Carrico, Isaac Webb and Cooper Talowsky also had doubles.
Maker, Talowsky, and Young all drove in three runs each, and Webb had two RBIs. Nate Ambos, Brady Erb and Garrett Siefring drove in one each.
Erb had two hits and two walks, and Webb had two hits and a walk.
