Wapak edges St. Marys to win league opener

All seven runs were scored in the third inning Tuesday, with the Wapakoneta Redskins outscoring the St. Marys Roughriders 4-3 in the frame.

The Roughriders gave the Redskins their first deficit of the season after scoring three times in the top half.

St. Marys' Austin Holandsworth and Wapakoneta's Nate Schroer each had two-run singles in the third inning.

Manny Vorhees earned the win for the Redskins (5-0, 1-0 WBL). Rob Laney pitched the seventh to earn the save.

Nathan Wilker threw six innings in the loss for the Roughriders (3-2, 0-1 WBL).
