The 51 students of the Waynesfield-Goshen class of 2016 received their diplomas in front of their family and friends on Sunday.

The ceremony, held in the Waynesfield-Goshen High School gymnasium, started at 2 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by an invocation led by Jordan McKinney, the class of 2016 Treasurer. Next, Superintendent Chris Pfister presented two awards: Friends of W-G to Shawn Plummer, and the Distinguished Alumni Award to Bob Case. Principal Becky Diglia then introduced the Salutatorian Kiley Valenti who, during her speech, recognized the parents and faculty who helped along the way.

Next the class Valedictorians, Jonnell Case and Stephen Hayes, spoke. Case spoke first about the importance of keeping kindness and humility in our hearts.

During his speech, Stephen Hayes spoke about what lies ahead in the next chapter of their lives and recalled the past 12 years of school with his classmates.
