W-G levy will not increase taxes

The Waynesfield-Goshen Local School District Board of Education met for a special meeting last weekend to renew a permanent improvement levy that has been in place since 1988.

The levy will remain at 4.9 mills and will generate funds for improvements and maintenance of the district's property and facilities. School grounds, buses, buildings, and technology all fall under that banner.

Salary, benefits, and any other personnel costs will not be impacted by the levy, as payment of those costs cannot come from the permanent improvement fund, which is disallowed under Ohio law.
