The Wapakoneta Redskins and the Botkins Trojans each advanced in the high school girls soccer postseason tournament Monday with wins at their home venues.

The Redskins (13-3-1) posted a 4-0 victory against fellow Western Buckeye League foe Van Wert in a Division II sectional semifinal. Michayla Binkley scored the final two goals of the game.

Wapakoneta will host another WBL school, Elida, on Thursday in a Division II sectional final at Ryan Field.

Botkins 1, Newton 0

Jenna Free scored the Trojans' lone goal just before halftime in their first home tournament game in program history, a Division IV sectional semifinal.

Botkins (7-7-3) will play at West Liberty-Salem in a sectional final at 7 p.m. Thursday.
