Schlenker to finish 4th in class

Finishing in the top five of his high school class was a goal Caleb Schlenker set for himself in the eighth grade. Saturday, he will accomplish that, graduating fourth in the Wapakoneta High School class of 2018. He will be one of the five student speakers featured during the commencement exercise.

Schlenker learned early on that it was important to prioritize in order to remain productive.

“I’ve always been productive at school. I never waste a minute, and I always try to go home without any homework, so I have time to work, participate in clubs, or go out with friends,” Schlenker said.

“There have been days throughout high school that I’ve left school at 6 p.m. because of extracurriculars, to go home and work on homework until 8 p.m. and have only a few measly hours to breathe.

Sometimes there aren’t enough hours in the day, and I’ve had to prioritize certain activities over others.”
