Redskins win league title outright

With no semblance of a celebration whatsoever — no cheers, no clapping — the Wapakoneta Redskins completed a no-nonsense 10-0 win Tuesday over the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans, giving the program its first outright Western Buckeye League title since 2000.

The WBL win Tuesday was Wapakoneta's eighth in as many tries this season, providing the school its first league title since 2006, which was a co-championship with Celina that season.

The Redskins' league title in 2016 ends a streak of four straight won by Bath and gives the program its sixth all time, tied for the third-most in WBL history.

Wapakoneta improved its overall record to 17-1 after the victory Tuesday.
