The Wapakoneta Redskins shot a favorable field goal percentage Tuesday to give first-year coach Doug Davis a win in his debut with the school.

The visiting Redskins shot 24 of 44, including 11 of 22 (50 percent) from 3-point range in a 71-54 win over the Piqua Indians. Wapakoneta was also a perfect 12 for 12 from the free-throw line in the non-league varsity boys basketball contest.

Jarrett Koch (22) and Ethan Good (21) hit four 3-pointers each, leading the Redskins in scoring. Koch was 8 for 8 on free throws. Aaron Huffman added 16 points for Wapakoneta (1-0). Nathan Monnin scored 21 for Piqua (2-1), which lost its first game of the season after winning a doubleheader this past weekend.

The game Tuesday was Wapakoneta's first of the 2015-16 season after the team's first three games were postponed due to the school's successful football season.
