Redskins swimmers host meet at YMCA

The Wapakoneta swim teams hosted a meet on Thursday, competing against Kenton, Lima Central Catholic, and New Bremen.
In the boys meet, Wapakoneta finished first with 93 points, followed by Kenton (41), LCC (14) and New Bremen (11).
Nate Miller won the 50 yard freestyle race, Nate Metzger won the 100, Cam Reichenbach won the 200, and Gavin Sutton took first in the 500.
Grant Honigford took first in the 200 IM, while Metzger won the backstroke and Danilo Martinelli was first in the breaststroke. The Redskins also were first in all three relay events.
New Bremen finished first for the girls' teams with 88 points. Wapakoneta was second with 75. Lima Central Catholic and Kenton had just a few points each.
Kalie Miller was first in the 50 free and Paige Schneider won the butterfly race. Wapakoneta was first in the 200 free relay with the combination of Schneider, Madelyn Moody, Elizabeth Gesler, and Miller.
In the 400 free relay, it was Miller, Ainsley Bump, Schneider and Gesler taking first place.
