Redskins pull out win over Riverside Saturday

The tone for the Redskins so far this year — close games.
The Wapakoneta baseball team wrapped up a busy week with an 8-7 victory over visiting Riverside on Saturday.
That followed a 3-2 win over Ottawa-Glandorf and a 12-inning loss to St. Mays on Friday.
Wapakoneta took a 6-3 lead, but Riverside responded with four runs in the fifth. Wapakoneta wasn't done however, getting runs in the fifth and sixth to collect the win.
Catcher Cooper Talowsky provided sparks on offense, getting a double, single and two sacrifice flies. Both of the flies produced runs.
Jett Makar had a two hits, one a triple, while Nate Ambos and Garrett Siefring each doubled. Brady Erb had two hits and a walk. Ambos drove in two runs and Makar, J.R. Young, Ryan Carrico and Eric Carpenter each had one RBI.
Starter Trevor Crow pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits. He walked one and struck out seven.
Young and Makar combined in relief, with Young going 1 2/3 innings and Makar throwing the seventh. Young allowed one hit and struck out two.
