Redskins capture rare league title

The Wapakoneta High School boys track and field team took first place at the Western Buckeye League Championships, which concluded Friday.

According to the league website, the Redskins' WBL title this year is just the third in 61 years competing at the league meet, joining the 1996 team that won it outright and the 2004 team that shared with Van Wert.

Wapakoneta's league title Friday breaks a tie with St. Marys for fewest WBL titles among current member schools.
