Open Wheel Showdown heads to Waynesfield

Staff Writer

The mid-season break comes to end as the open wheel divisions return to Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield this Saturday night July 23.

The K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders makes their final appearance of the season headlining Saturday's program. Randy Hannagan currently holds Waynesfield bragging rights with two victories in NRA action this season. Jared Horstman broke Hannagan’s winning streak a few weeks ago by taking the Summer Sprint Sizzler on Independence Day weekend. The Satellite Connections Non Wing Sprints and the Quest Federal Credit Union UMP Modifieds are also scheduled for a Saturday night of nothing but open wheel racing.

Adult general admission is $12, kids 11-15 years of age are admitted for just $6, and everyone under the age of 10 is admitted for free. Pit admission is $25.

Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m.; grandstands at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps get underway at 6:30 p.m. with racing action scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
