Mastronardi Produce buys greenhouse

The greenhouse located in Wapakoneta's Job Ready Site has sold, and the new owners are looking forward to being a part of the community.

Mastronardi Produce, North America’s leading grower and distributor of specialty and commodity greenhouse produce, announced that it has expanded with its sixth greenhouse in the United States, with the purchase of the greenhouse formerly known as Golden Fresh Farms. The 20-acre state-of-the-art facility farm will now operate as The Ohio Greenhouse Company, and will continue to use the latest innovative technology to provide fresh, local produce to the area year-round.

Wapakoneta Mayor Tom Stinebaugh said the sale is good for the greenhouse business as well as for the city.

"They are the biggest owner of greenhouses under roof in the United States," Stinebaugh said. "I think it's going to be good news for the greenhouse; they have the resources to expand, they have a great leadership team in place; and they know what they're doing. I'm thrilled they've got the greenhouse and I look forward to their expansion."
