Lois Landfair, 95

Lois B. Landfair, 95. of Lima, died at 11:50 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Cridersville Health Care Center in Cridersville.
She was born Feb. 28, 1916, in Lima to Doris Elizabeth Shadley and Elmer Clarence Yoakam, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 4, 1935, she married Robert G. Landfair, who died June 18, 1991.
Surviving are three daughters: Diana K. (Joe) Estill, of Forest, Va., Sharon Lienberger, of Lima; and Cathy Kelloes, of Winston, Ga.; 11 grandchildren: Darla (Mark) Riehm, Sharon (Joe) Older, Beth (Steve) Mullen, Sarah (Chad) Courtney, Christopher (Regina) Estill, Brian (Wendy) Deffenbaugh, Steven Lienberger, Tereza Kelloes, Kati (Nicholas) Dean, Marika (Jonathan) Booth, and Robert Kelloes; four step-grandchildren: Ken Lienberger, Kim (Janet) Lienberger, Becky Ballamy and Kerry (Sheree) Lienberger; 12 great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother Darrell Yoakam and a son-in-law Thomas Lienberger.
She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1933 where she was a star Basketball forward/center on a team that compiled a 47–14-4 record during her career.
She retired from the Shawnee School System where she had been a secretary and librarian. She was inducted into the Shawnee Athletic Hall of Fame in 1988 as “Shawnee’s number one fan”, having never missed a football or basketball game in 36 years.
Lois was a member of the Shawnee Community United Methodist Church, the YWCA, and the Retired Secretaries of Shawnee Schools.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shawnee Community United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charlotte Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in Shawnee Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
The family wished to thank the staffs of the Ridge at Shawnee and The Cridersville Health Care Center for the loving care given their mother.
