Lady Redskins earn first win; top SM in overtime

It required a battle and paid off in the end.
St. Marys held a narrow advantage over host Wapakoneta for most of Thursday's WBL girls basketball contest. They were up seven early in the fourth, but the Lady Redskins battled back, and eventually won 47-42 in overtime.
The win was the first of the season for the Lady Redskins, making them 1-5 overall and 1-1 in league play. St. Marys is now 0-2 in the WBL and 3-3 overall.
St. Marys led 37-32 with 3 1/2 minutes left in regulation. But the offense would go dry at a critical period. Meanwhile, Makenzie Wilson of Wapakoneta got two baskets, then a free throw with 1:06 to play, tying the game. The Lady Redskins then outscored St. Marys 10-5 in the extra period.
