Elections board busy year round

No matter the time of year, the Auglaize County Board of Elections keeps pretty busy.

“It tracks registered voters and provides the service of registering voters,” Deputy Director Peggy Matheny said.

It is also where candidates file their petition for office, Director Michelle Wilcox noted.

“They have to file the petition 90 days prior to the election,” she said. “Then we check the petition to make sure all the voters on it are able to vote. If it's a party petition, then you have to make sure they are all part of that party.”
