C'ville Historical Society hopes to stir up interest

The Cridersville Historical Society held it's 29th annual "Old-Fashioned Ham and Bean Supper" on Thursday in the shadow of the Daniel Bowsher Log Home on E. Main St.

Held every year since 1989, the dinner serves as a significant fundraiser for the historical society, which hosts a number of informative events throughout the year.

It also goes a long way towards maintaing and operating the Cridersville Museum on W. Sugar St. and Bowsher Log Home, built in 1836.

"It helps us for maintenance and utilities and all of the things we have to upkeep, and occasionally new exhibits," Greg Myers of the Historical Society said. "They're operating costs. Like keeping up a home."
