Council to welcome new members

The Wapakoneta City Council welcomes two new members to its ranks at tonight’s meeting, the first of the new year.

Republicans Terry Campbell and Chad Dunlap will fill At-Large seats on council, along with Democrat Rodney Metz.

Since council is starting the year anew, all councilors and the council president are expected to be sworn in.

It was unclear at press time whether committee assignments would be made tonight. As presently set, Streets and Alleys and Lands and Buildings are without chairs.

According to a copy of the agenda, only a few pieces of legislation are to see action.

Council is expected to hear a third reading of an ordinance regarding storm water drainage regulations.

David Schlenker, of Schlenker Development Inc., addressed council on Dec. 18 regarding this issue when it came up for its second reading.
