Children's book author meets with readers at Riverside Arts Center

Riverside Art Center has done a lot to support local artists through the years, but over the weekend, the downtown Wapakoneta art gallery tried their hand at supporting a different kind of artist.

Saturday morning, Riverside hosted Misty Steinke, author and illustrator of children's book, 'Who Hung the Moon?' for a meet-and-greet and book signing.

Drawing inspiration from her grandmother, the book–which Steinke says is meant for toddler to kindergarten age children–is her first.

"The book was inspired by my grandmother," Steinke said. "She was from the South and told us many stories when we were little."

"Art has been instilled in me all of my life, and I thought, 'what a great combination to instill these stories in with my art,'" she continued. "So that's what I did."
