Chaos returns to city

Last year, it was headlined “Controlled Chaos.” This year turned out to be a little more controlled.

“It went well,” said Elaine Poppe, chair of the Children’s Hometown Holiday, of Friday’s second annual Snowball Drop.

The event was tweaked slightly from the first event, including the addition of a fence surrounding the drop area.

The “snowballs” are ping pong balls, which are dropped from one of the fire department’s lift trucks.

The vent was broken down by age groups: 0-4 years old, 5-8 and 9-12.
