Botkins' Miller breaks school record, places 6th

There's never a better time to be at your best than at the state meet.

That was the case Friday for Botkins High School junior Josh Miller.

The Trojans' thrower broke the school record that he previously shared and placed sixth in the shot put finals at the high school boys track and field Division III state championships.

Miller's best toss Friday was 52 feet, 11.75 inches and gave him his first career podium appearance in any event.

Last season he qualified for state and placed 12th in the shot put.
