BOTKINS — The Botkins girls bounced back in excellent form.
After losing their season opener, the Lady Trojans put forth a solid effort on Saturday, rolling to a 61-32 win over Mechanicsburg in nonleague play.
Botkins never trailed, giving up just 12 points in the first three quarters of play.
"We played well. It was a total team effort, and everybody contributed," said Botkins coach Phil Groves. "We focused on setting the tempo early. I love the intensity we showed."
He added the team is improving at establishing itself on defense.
Botkins is 1-1 on the season.
Botkins had three players reach double figures, as Jill Greve had 13, Janell Greve scored 12, and Taira Greve put in 10.
