Board to vote on Safety Levy

The Wapakoneta City Schools Board of Education will be voting next month to officially put the school safety and security levy on the ballot for the spring of 2019 election.

During Tuesday's regular Board meeting, it was announced that following the Board's organizational meeting on Jan. 3, there will be a special meeting for discussion on the proposed levy, and a Resolution of Necessity will be voted on.

The levy, which would be set at 1 Mil–one dollar per $1,000 of assessed property value–would raise $400,000 for the district to implement a number of safety and security measures.
