4x400 district champ; Sutton breaks school record

Wapakoneta won a second district title in a relay Friday when its 4x400 team — Claire Burton, Allie Zofkie, Olivia Kentner and Sidney Sutton — placed first, advancing to regionals with its top-four finish.

Sutton made it regionals in two individual events which included breaking her own school record in the 400 dash.

Megan Smith, Zofkie and Taylor Fisher each qualified for regionals in one individual event.

The Redskins had two boys relays advance to regionals, the 4x100 and 4x200, which are comprised of Cameron Lauck, Nate Elsass, Alex Lause and Collin Lenhart.

Will Hinegardner and Sam Hinegardner also qualified for regionals in the high jump.
