ACME takes 4th

DEFIANCE ­— While the Wapakoneta ACME team finished in fourth place with a 1-2 weekend, their head coach says “they picked up some valuable experience against some very good teams.”

In the tournament opener Wapak went up against Toledo Central Catholic (TCC) ACME Fighting Irish in a game played Saturday at Defiance College and came away with a hard fought 3-2 victory. 

Wapak starting pitcher Jake Bruns and TCC starter Paul Shomar were both in command on the mound and scoring opportunities were scarce all day.

The Wapakoneta Redskins were well-represented at the Ohio Middle School State Track Meet, as these Redskins set school records!

 

Allie Zofkie      in the      1600 Meter Run    5:26.84

Claire Burton   in the      200 Meter Hurdles    30.77

Madison Watt   In the     Discus    Throw             91-00 feet

BLUFFTON —  Seven innings wasn’t enough to determine a district champion in the Division II Bluffton District Title game. 

The Wapakoneta Redskins and the Lexington Minutemen found themselves tied at 2-2 heading into extra innings. The Redskins were able to load the bases three times in late innings, but the third time turned out to be the charm for the defending-state-runner ups from Wapakoneta.
