Shirley Ann Richardson, 79, of Knoxville, Tenn., passed away on Jan. 8, 2014, after an extended illness at the Fountainview Center in Atlanta, Ga. Shirley was born on Jan. 6, 1935 to Carl C. and Pauline G. (Lanning) Brading of Wapakoneta, who preceded her in death.
A loving sister, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sally (Roger) Moellenkamp. She is survived by Nancy (Robert) Van Skiver, Becky (Richard) Kohlreiser and Judy (Wayne) Kentner, all from Wapakoneta.
A beloved mother of four, she is survived by her children, Brad (Terry) Richardson and Laura (Allan) Kerr of Knoxville, Tenn., and Daniel (Judy) Richardson and Eric (Barbara) Richardson of Atlanta, Ga.
She leaves eight grandchildren whom she loved dearly and who returned that love. They are: Rebekah, Nathan and Hannah Richardson, Bryan, Kathleen and Alex Kerr, and Andrew and Dan Richardson. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a devoted sister, mother, aunt and grandmother. Her family was the passion of her life. She was active in supporting her children's activities in school and sports, as well as her grandchildren's.
Shirley had an engaging laugh and a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed her pets and was fond of all animals. She looked forward each year to Christmas with her immediate family and loved visiting her sisters and their extended families in Ohio.
She worked several jobs during the course of her life, including over 28 years at Belk (formerly Proffit's.)
Shirley will truly be missed.
A memorial service will be held at the Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church Chapel in Knoxville, Tenn. on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m.
