A new restaurant offering both Chinese-style foods and American favorites opens at 11 a.m. today.
Old Town Buffet, which also is to feature a Mongolian and barbecue grill, plans to open offering both its buffet or dinners available for dine-in or take out.
Old Town Buffet owner Neng Lin said Wapakoneta seemed the perfect place for him to open another restaurant. He currently also has restaurants in Bryan and Bowling Green.
“We thought it was the perfect place with it being in the shopping center,” Lin said.
Lin said he had looked at the area several years ago, but another Chinese restaurant was located right down the road and he felt the climate was not right.
“Someone asked me if I was interested but I thought the other restaurant was too close,” Lin said. “Someone approached me again recently and I saw that the other one was closed.”
The restaurant would be capable of handling both take out and birthday parties, both eat-in
and take out. The restaurant uses 100 percent vegetable oil to cook and also offers a chocolate fountain and ice cream sundae machine available for children both young and old.
Buffet prices are age adjusted for children under three, ages 3 to 5, ages 6 to 9, and adults. Senior citizens ages 65 and older receive a 10 percent discount.
The restaurant is located at 1262 Bellefontaine Ave. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Take home menus are available and orders can be made by calling 419-738-6399 for pick up.
