You may be thinking, “Oh no, not another lecture on looking out for motorcycles.” The short answer: Yes, deal with it.

Aside from yesterday’s dusting of snow, the weather is getting better. And with that comes the shedding of our winter wardrobe, the roar of lawnmowers on Saturday mornings and motorcyclists on the road.

We even noticed a personal watercraft sitting aside a garage as if it was awaiting a tune-up. Visions of people enjoying a a warm summer day come easily.

As a graduate of Michigan State University, as someone who has seen pain, illness and events affect my loved ones and as a sports fan I can honestly say that Wednesday, April 8, was a challenge to get through.
Many of you might have heard the story of little Lacey Holsworth, an 8-year-old girl from St. Johns, Mich. who was stricken with a rare cancer that wrapped itself around her spinal cord two years ago.

The word binge has a pretty bad reputation, I mean when you think of binge eating or drinking it’s obviously a bad thing, but now, with the insurgence of streaming Internet and TV devices, the word binge is becoming more and more popular.

I for one am an avid TV and movie watcher, and I am in absolute favor of the people’s right to binge watch TV series via Netflix, HBO GO, Hulu and whatever other binge watching capabilities that may be be out there.

It’s not exactly a secret anymore. Fifteen years ago, this undelivered speech surfaced. A 233-word speech, written by presidential speech writer William Safire, was to be given by Richard Nixon in the event of Apollo 11’s failure. I imagine President Nixon might have kept  it folded neatly in his jacket pocket for the entire 8-day mission and then, in ultimate relief, buried it in a desk drawer when the crew was finally taken aboard the USS Hornet.
