Alma Lee Rhodes, 78

Alma Lee Rhodes, 78, of 14047 Glynwood–New Knoxville Road in rural St. Marys, died at 10:59 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at her residence. She was born Sept. 7, 1936, in Little Clear Creek, near Pineville, Ky., to Robert Eual and Verda (Partin) Webb.

On Dec. 18, 1954, in Jellico, Tenn., she married Matt S. Rhodes, who survives.

Patricia L. Libbee, 83

Patricia L. Libbee, 83, of 20340 Middle Pike, Wapakoneta, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at 8:45 p.m., at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. She was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Sidney, the daughter of Nicholas and Helen (Sherman) Romaker and they are deceased. She was married on May 17, 1952, to Gordon S. Libbee, and he survives in Wapakoneta. 

Richard E. Miller, 70

Richard E. Miller, 70, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 8:25 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at Wapakoneta Manor. He was born Dec. 29, 1943, to the late Arlie E. and Marie E. (Brincefield) Miller. On May 18, 1974, he married Wavalene Bowsher, who survives.

Mr. Miller had been a custodian for the Wapakoneta City School system. He was a member of Eagles Lodge, Aerie 691 and Labor's Union 329. He had served in the National Guard and was a NASCAR fan.

Karen Blackburn Miller, 56

Karen Blackburn Miller, 56, passed away Sept. 10, 2014, at her residence. She was born Nov. 19, 1957, in Wapakoneta, to Elmer and Rose (King) Blackburn, who have preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Chad Eberle, of Findlay; her beloved canine companion, Zoe; and six siblings, David (Jackie) Billiter, of Wapakoneta, Sharon  Jones, of Wapakoneta, Jack Blackburn, of Dacula, Ga., Patricia Widmark, of Wapakoneta, Pamela Reynolds, of Lima, and Sandra (Roger) Woods, of Lima. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Wade, Charles and Bruce Blackburn.

Ruth C. Carter, 83, of Wapakoneta, died at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at Auglaize Acres. She was born June 21, 1931, in Celina, the daughter of Steve and Christine (Hemmelgarn) Bensman.  

Sharon K. Feikert, 73

Sharon K. Feikert, 73, of Waynesfield, died at 2:14 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, following an auto accident. She was born Nov. 28, 1940, in Lima, to the late Warren C. and Louisa Elizabeth Warner Shook. She married Bruce Feikert on March 1, 1964, and he survives in Waynesfield.

LaVern A. Menker, 81

LaVern A. Menker, 81, of 813 Briarcliff Dr., Saint Marys, and formerly of Springfield, died at 3:20 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at the Elmwood Assisted Living Center in New Bremen. He was born June 7, 1933, in Maria Stein, the son of Alvin and Anna (Heitbrink) Menker. He married Jane Tumbush on Sept. 17, 1955, in Saint Marys, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 27, 2001.

Norma S. Borjas, 71

September 16, 2014

Norma S. Borjas, 71, formerly of Cridersville, died peacefully in her residence in Maineville, Ohio on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014. She was born June 10, 1943, in Kenton, to Morris and Freda (nee Gibson) Switzer. Both preceded her in death. On April 24, 1962, she was united in marriage to Frank Borjas, who survives in Maineville.

Myron H. Opperman, 89

Myron H. Opperman, 89, of 505 West South St., New Knoxville, Ohio, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at OSU Medical Center in Columbus.

He was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Shelby County, Ohio, the son of Herman and Anna (Nolte) Opperman. He married Henrietta Egbert on Aug. 28, 1948, and she preceded him in death in 1978. He married Wavalene Bradford on May 23, 1980, and she survives at the residence.

John Henry Jackson, 83

John Henry Jackson, 83, of Wapakoneta, went to be with the Lord at 8:21 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at his residence. He was born on March 29, 1931, in Pineville, Ky., to Gillis and Roseiena (Simpson) Jackson, who preceded him in death. He married Myrtle Brock, who survives in Wapakoneta, with whom they have four children. He then married Anna B. Martin, who passed away in 1997.
