Winans pops up for holiday shopping

If you've got a sweet tooth, or looking for a tasty gift for the holiday season, you're in luck, as Winans Chocolates and Coffees is opening up their doors every weekend in December leading up to Christmas.

From now until Dec. 23, owners Stephen and Amy Ambrose are open for business, Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thur. and Fri. and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sat.

The Pop Up Shop is just a preview of what the couple hopes will be a full time store come spring.

While construction and eventual opening of the store has been delayed, Amy Ambrose wanted to give her community a sample of what's to come.

"We really love Winans and really wanted to bring it to Wapak," Ambrose said. "Our full store starts construction in January, and we'll be opening up full time this Spring. So while we're waiting, we've been doing pop up shops, which allows us to bring a taste of Winans to Wapak."

"Eventually, when the full shop opens, we'll have sit down seating and a full coffee bar, a big eight foot candy case," Ambrose added, "so we'll have a lot more product than what we're able to bring up to the pop up shop."
