William H. Brown, 62

William H. Brown, 62, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. He was born on Aug. 19, 1951, in Lima, to Lewis D. & Helen M. (Ruck) Brown who preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter and three sons; Christine (Kevin) Snider of Wapakoneta, Michael (Karen) Brown, Todd (Deana Mayorga) Brown and Randy (Iris Morales) Brown all of Miami, Fla.; three grandchildren, Andrea Jeffrey, Derek and Natalia Brown; one great-granddaughter, Sidney Stalnaker; a brother, Richard (Candace) Brown; a sister, Betty Suchland; two sister-in-laws, Carolyn and Elizabeth Brown, and a brother-in-law, Art Fischer. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Robert Brown, and a sister, Ruth Fischer.

William was a 1969 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Wapakoneta.  He then served in Vietnam with the United States Army. 

He was employed at Plastipak in Jackson Center where he had worked for 14 years.  In his younger years, he had played softball for the Chalet Inn and was an avid sports fan, always rooting for Ohio State University, the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Browns.  He especially loved his children and grandchildren.

Memorial services are scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Wapakoneta, with Pastor Kent Hollis officiating. 

Military rites will be performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445 following the service.  Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
