Width to stay

October 18, 2013

Citing a mid-year change in the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) policy, Wapakoneta City Council Streets, Alleys and Sidewalks members voted to maintain the street width for a section of West Auglaize Street scheduled for reconstruction in 2015.
“Our resolution to the situation is to recommend the width of street stay at 37 feet for the reconstruction project,” Councilor-at-large Dan Graf, who chairs the Streets, Alleys and Sidewalks Committee, said during Thursday’s committee meeting. “At the public hearing, we were boxed in and told that if we wanted the money we had to reconstruct the street at 39 feet. ODOT has opened the door to that box and allowed us to go 37 feet.
For more information on the resolution, see the Friday, Oct. 18 edition of the Wapakoneta Daily News.
