Scoring 3,236 points over the course of the two-day championship meet, the Wapakoneta Waves swim team brought home the Western Ohio Aquatic League title, and smashed some records along the way.

WOAL is an eight-team league that also includes teams from Ada, Bluffton, Van Wert, Kenton, the Sherwood and Westside swim clubs and the Shawnee Country Club. This year’s final meet was held at Kenton.

Ryan Schneider, 14, set a new meet record in the boys 13-14 50-meter butterfly with a finals time of 28.52. The previous record was 28.83, set in 1993.
