A warehouse fire erupted in Waynesfield on Monday night causing firefighters from 14 different departments to battle the blaze for more than 11 hours.

Wayne Township Fire Chief Albert Presnell said firefighters were paged out to the fire at 6:08 p.m. Monday and the last truck left the scene at 5:28 a.m. Tuesday.

Presnell said that there were so many fire departments called because of the need for manpower assistance.

“After it started to get cold, our manpower was getting tired and cold so we were trying to rotate guys out,” he said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the cause of the fire remains unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
