Wapakoneta tallies win over Flyers in opener

The Wapakoneta Redskins recorded a season-opening win Saturday over the Marion Local Flyers.
Wapak tallied a 1,478-1,172 victory at Plaza Lanes in Celina to begin the West Ohio High School Bowling Conference girls season.

After a 763-552 win in the first game, Wapak's margin of victory was much closer in the second, 715-620.

Kylie Timmerman was the 'Skins top bowler in the first game with a 182, while Britni Hosterman rolled a 185 in the second game to lead the team.

Hosterman finished with a 168.0 average, while Timmerman managed a 157.5. Shelby Timmerman (167-155) was had Wapak's second-highest average at 161.0.

Josee Kaeck also bowled for Wapak, tallying a 137.5 average. Courtney Robey (116) posted the Redskins' fifth score in the first game, while Kierstyn Neumeier (114) did the honors in the second game.

The Redskins recorded a win in Baker games, 565-487.

Wapak will continue its schedule Saturday against Minster at Pla-Mor Lanes in Coldwater.
