Wapak shuts out O-G, closing in on WBL title

The Wapakoneta Redskins, with a win over the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans on Monday, inched one win closer to winning the Western Buckeye League title.
The Redskins’ 5-0 win Monday over O-G moved their WBL record to 7-0 on the season.
Wapak can clinch at least a share of the WBL title with a win Thursday against St. Marys.
At first singles, Kaitlin Snider topped Amy Schmiedebusch, 6-2, 6-4. Allie Zofkie defeated Tiffany Kahle, 6-1, 6-0, in second singles. At third singles, Rachel Roberts beat Haley Recker, 6-1, 6-0.
Zofkie and Roberts each remained undefeated this season with their wins Monday.
Kiersten Wellons and Chelsea Myers handled Alyssa Schnipke and Lauren Schneeg, 6-1, 6-1. At second doubles, Carly Buzzard and Amanda Sims shut out Lexi Hasleyman and Erin Hageman, 6-0, 6-0.
Wapak is now 10-0 overall this season.
The Redskins will play the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds today in a non-league road match at the Collett Street Courts in Lima.
