Wapak outlasts Kenton in 5 games

The Wapakoneta Redskins notched a win in their first Western Buckeye League match of the season Thursday in a 3-2 win over the Kenton Wildcats in varsity volleyball action in Kenton.

Wapak trailed in games won two separate times in Thursday’s match, as the game scores were 22-25, 25-8, 20-25, 25-18 and 15-6.

The win was Wapak’s third straight and gave the team a 3-1 overall record and a 1-0 WBL mark.

Jadyn Nuss had 23 digs for the Redskins. Josie Miller recorded 18 blocks. Lea Stoner had 11 blocks and a team-high nine kills. Erin Schnell and Sarah Horman each posted seven kills.

Wapak will next play Saturday when it hosts Lima Senior, Marion Harding and Toledo Scott in a quad match beginning at 9 a.m. at Wapakoneta High School.
