Wanda L. "Jean" Drees, 90

Wanda L. “Jean” Drees, 90, of St. Marys, died at 5:06 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Washington Township, Auglaize County, the daughter of Pearl (Fryer) and Harve Russell, who preceded her in death. In 1939, she married Clarence “Shorty” Meyers, and he died Aug. 25, 1975. On Dec. 29, 1990, she married Henry B. Drees, and he survives in St. Marys.
Also surviving are two daughters, Wanda (James) Schumann, of Keene, N.H., Victoria Hitchen, of St. Marys; three step-daughters, Madonna (Anthony) Gigandet, of Bellbrook, Mary (James) Schulze, of Lewis Center, Marilyn (Harold) Grieshop, of Celina; five grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; and two great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Edith Hindenlang, Deloris Schmitt Wendall, Marcille Bowsher and Lucille Shaffer (twins), and Robert Russell.
Jean worked various jobs outside the home, and worked hard her whole life. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Wapakoneta. She was also a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. auxiliaries.
Private services will be held at ResthavenMemory Gardens, near Moulton, with the Rev. Mark Bauer officiating.
There will be no public visitation.
Arrangements are being conducted by the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.
