W-G tops Riverside in NWCC opener

WAYNESFIELD — The Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers varsity boys golf team landed a 187-209 win Thursday over the Riverside Pirates in Northwest Central Conference action at Prairie View Golf Club.

Trey Crumrine paced W-G with a nine-hole score of 41 on Thursday on his way to being match medalist.

Lake Turner was second for W-G with a 46, while Gabe Wilcox scored a 48 and Brandon Turner carded a 52.

Landon Kelsey led Riverside with a 44.

Elsewhere for the Pirates, Ross Stevens shot a 48, Luke Lowery had a 55 and Derek Kobylack notched a 62.

The win gave W-G a 1-0 record overall and in the NWCC.

With the loss, Riverside dropped to 0-1, 0-1, this season.

The Tigers will return to action at 10 a.m. Monday with a non-league home match against New Bremen at Prairie View.
