Voters to decide on alcohol sales

May 2, 2014

Area voters will decide on Tuesday, May 6 whether or not two businesses in Auglaize County will receive permits in order to sell alcohol on Sundays — the Wapakoneta Walmart and the St. Marys Eagles.

Registered voters in Wapakoneta precinct 3-B will be deciding whether or not Walmart Supercenter, at 1257 Bellefontaine St., Wapakoneta, will be able to sell beer, wine and mixed beverages between 10 a.m. and midnight on Sundays.

Registered voters in St. Marys precinct 1-B will be deciding whether or not the St. Marys Eagles Auglaize Aerie 767 will be able to sell wine, mixed beverages and spirituous liquor between 10 a.m. and midnight on Sundays.

Both businesses have unsuccessfully attempted to obtain the alcohol permits in past elections, Auglaize County Board of  Elections Deputy Director Peggy Matheny said.
