Virgil Knoch, 93

Virgil V. Knoch, 93, of Wapakoneta, died at 7:34 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born Oct. 6, 1919, in Auglaize County, the son of Retha (Knoch) and George Smith, who preceded him in death. On May 6, 1967, he married Virginia Baumhekel Soder, and she died March 18, 2011.
Surviving are a daughter, Connie (Fred) Doseck, of Clearwater, Fla.; a granddaughter, Natalie (Ray) Overweg; and two great-grandchildren, Conner and Sydney.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Doseck.
Virgil retired in 1982 from Superior Tube Co. in Wapakoneta. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, where he was a very dedicated volunteer. He also served in the Ohio National Guard.
In accordance with Virgil’s wishes, graveside services are to be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating.
There is to be no public visitation.
