Uniopolis Homicide

The Auglaize County Coroner’s Office released more information Thursday on the death of Charles Hicks of Uniopolis, whose body was found at his residence, 2 South Main St., on Monday.

A news release from Coroner Dr. Thomas Freytag states that the manner of death was a homicide due to crushing injuries to the anterior neck due to beating by assailant(s).

The release further states that death occurred within minutes of the injuries, sometime between 8 p.m. June 7 and midnight June 8, 2014.

The news release further refers any questions regarding the investigation to the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, as this conclude’s the coroner’s investigation.
