Ronald A. Steinke, 75

Ronald A. Steinke, 75, of Wapakoneta, died at his residence on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014.  He was born on Jan. 19, 1938, in Lima, to Isadore and Loretta Schnippel Steinke.  He married Cornelia M. Rosenbauer on April 28, 1960, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 2007.

Mr. Steinke had worked at Koneta Rubber Company and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He enjoyed painting, woodworking and spending time with family and neighbors.  

Survivors include a son, Donald A. Steinke of Wapakoneta; three grandchildren, Dylan and Dalton Steinke, and Conner Heckman, three sisters, Katie (Norm) Gerstner of Wapakoneta, Betty (Ralph) Abriani and Nancy (Hank) Slagle, both of Cleveland; a sister-in-law, Becky Steinke of Wapakoneta, and a special niece, Lisa Heckman.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marion I. Steinke, Robert I. Steinke and Zeke I. Steinke, and a sister-in-law, Rita Steinke. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, in Cridersville.

A vigil service will be held just prior to visitation at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday.

The funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, with Father Daniel Hunt officiating.  

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Wapakoneta. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, and online condolences may be shared at BayliffAndSon.com.
