The Wapakoneta Redskins posted back-to-back wins after a 3-1 victory Monday over the Sidney Yellow Jackets in non-league varsity volleyball action, with the match’s scores being 25-21, 25-16, 22-25 and 25-23.
The win moved Wapak to 2-1 overall this season.
The Redskins hounded the net Monday, as Lea Stoner had 19 blocks and Josie Miller notched 15 blocks.
“We definitely had a nice block game tonight,” Wapak varsity coach Amy Ruppert said Monday. “Those are huge numbers.”
Also key for the Redskins were just six service errors in the four games.
“We have to continue that path, keep our errors down and let our offense do what they know how to do, which is score points,” Ruppert said.
Sarah Horman and Miller each had six kills. Erin Schnell added three. Karli Schneider posted 12 assists, while Faith Hensley had 11. Jadyn Nuss recorded 26 digs.
“The biggest thing for us is we want to continue to improve with every match so that we’re moving in a positive direction and seeing progression with them,” Ruppert said. “We saw improvement in serve-receive and limited errors in service. We have to do that every game.”
Wapak will return to action Thursday with a road match in Western Buckeye League play against Kenton.
