Continuing his crusade to cut wasteful spending and fighting for tax and regulatory reform, a U.S. lawmaker seeks a “smart way forward” to deal with the federal shutdown and debt ceiling in an effort to support and best serve his constituents.
“The shutdown is not easy for my constituents, a lot of them are concerned about it,” Republican U.S. Sen. Rob Portman said Thursday during a media teleconference, “and others strongly believe we need to hold firm because of the spending issues.
