Police break up bar fights

Police responded to a large fight outside of Lulu’s bar in Wapakoneta at 2:28 a.m. on Sunday.

Upon arrival, officers observed two intoxicated males fighting in the street in front of the bar.

 One of the subjects appeared to have been hit in the back of the head.

The suspect is a 33-year-old male, of Wapakoneta. According to a police report, the suspect's wife was also struck during the altercation. She requested a rescue squad, and she later refused transport.

The victim was Billy Nichols, 35, of Lima.

Nichols advised officers that he wanted to go home and did not press charges. Officers stood by Lulu’s bar until all patrons dispersed.

Police responded to a seperate fight at 2:33 a.m. on Sunday at Lulu’s bar in Wapakoneta.

The fight involved a 38-year-old female, of St. Marys, who allegedly assaulted a 43-year-old male, of Wapakoneta. The case remains under investigation, and police did not release any names.
